One-way drops and round trips

A round trip is the standard shape — the car takes you out, stays with you, and brings you home. It is almost always the better value for a same-day return or an overnight stay, because you keep the same driver and the same vehicle throughout, and you are not standing in an unfamiliar city hoping a return car materialises.

One-way drops make sense when you are flying out, moving a family member to a hostel or hospital, or being met at the other end. Tell us at the time of booking that you want a one-way, because it changes both the quote and which vehicle we assign — a driver ending the day in Varanasi has to be planned for, not discovered.

Popular outstation destinations from Basti

Gorakhpur is the shortest genuine outstation run at roughly seventy kilometres, and it doubles as our airport and medical-referral corridor. Ayodhya is a comfortable two-hour run west and the single most requested destination on the list. Lucknow, at a little over two hundred kilometres down NH-27, is the standard business, medical and airport trip — most families leave Basti before dawn to be at a Gomti Nagar clinic by mid-morning.

Eastward and south, Varanasi is around two hundred and fifteen kilometres and usually done as an overnight, while Prayagraj sits at roughly two hundred and twenty. Vindhyachal is a similar distance and is generally combined with Varanasi. Chitrakoot and Mathura–Vrindavan are long enough that we plan them as two- or three-day packages with a proper driver rest built in — pushing either into a single day is how people end up on a highway at 2 a.m., and we will say so.

What the highway actually looks like

NH-27 westward towards Ayodhya and Lucknow is four-lane and quick outside the town chokepoints, though the stretch through Basti town itself and the Khalilabad crossing can eat twenty minutes at the wrong hour. Eastward towards Gorakhpur the road is good; the Varanasi and Prayagraj runs mix highway with slower district roads through Sant Kabir Nagar and Azamgarh side, so plan on a realistic seven to eight hours rather than a map estimate.

We build breaks into long runs — a dhaba stop with clean washrooms roughly every two and a half hours, and a longer meal halt on anything over five hours. If you are travelling with small children or elders, say so when booking; the driver plans different stops and a gentler pace.

Sedans are fine for two to four adults with light luggage and are the most economical way to cover long distances. For a family of five or six, or for anyone doing more than about four hours in one sitting, the MPVs — Ertiga, Innova, Xylo — are the sensible choice: more legroom, a real boot, and a suspension that handles the district roads better.

Groups above six move in a Tempo Traveller, and parties above twelve in the twenty-six-seater mini bus. Both carry roof carriers, which matters on multi-day trips.
