Ayodhya is the shortest and by a wide margin the most requested. Most families leave Basti before sunrise, complete Ram Janmabhoomi darshan, take in Hanuman Garhi and Kanak Bhawan, and are home the same evening. It works comfortably as a day trip for any group size.

Kashi is generally an overnight — Kashi Vishwanath darshan, the Ganga aarti at Dashashwamedh in the evening, and Sarnath the next morning if there is appetite for it. Prayagraj, at a similar distance, is done either as a very long day or as an overnight, and during Magh Mela and Kumbh it is always an overnight because the last few kilometres take hours.

Vindhyachal pairs naturally with Varanasi and adds the trikon parikrama of Vindhyavasini, Ashtabhuja and Kali Khoh. Chitrakoot — Ramghat, Kamadgiri, Sati Anusuiya — needs two nights to be done without rushing. Mathura, Vrindavan, Banke Bihari, Prem Mandir and ISKCON make up the Braj circuit, which we plan as three or four days with a halt each way.

Planning a multi-day yatra

For anything over one night we build the itinerary with you before you pay anything. That means naming the darshan you actually care about, because no honest plan fits four dhams into two days, and the version that pretends otherwise ends with the group asleep in the vehicle and no darshan done.

We also plan around temple timings rather than clock times. Many shrines shut for a long midday break and reopen in the late afternoon, so a sensible itinerary uses the middle of the day for travel and the mornings and evenings for darshan. The driver knows those windows for the temples on your route and will tell you if the plan you have written will not work.

Accommodation is your choice — dharamshalas, temple trust guest houses or hotels — and we drop and collect from wherever you book. Drivers arrange their own rest, which is included in the quote and never something you need to organise.

They know where to park, which is not a small thing at Ayodhya or on a Kashi aarti evening. They know which prasad shops are trustworthy and which cloakrooms will hold your phone while you are inside the sanctum. They understand that a group may want to sit by the Ganga for an hour longer than planned and they will not hurry you back to the car.

They also know the practical rules — that mobile phones and leather are not permitted inside certain shrines, which entry gate moves faster on a crowded morning, and where the wheelchair-accessible route is. For families travelling with elders, that knowledge is worth more than the vehicle.

Vehicles available

Couples and small families take a sedan. Six travellers, or any group with elders in it, are much better off in an Ertiga, Innova or Xylo — the extra height alone makes getting in and out easier at every stop.

Yatra parties of a dozen or more use the Tempo Traveller, and larger mandalis the twenty-six-seat mini bus. Both have roof carriers, which matters because yatra baggage tends to be bedding and steel tiffins rather than suitcases. Every vehicle is sanitized before pickup and GPS-tracked so relatives at home can be told exactly where the group has reached.
