The Force Tempo Traveller is the workhorse. In its twelve-seat layout everyone gets a proper reclining seat with real legroom, which is what you want for a two-hundred-kilometre run to Varanasi. The sixteen-seat layout fits more people at the cost of some of that space and suits shorter hops — a wedding transfer within the district, or a day trip to Ayodhya.
Above sixteen passengers we send the twenty-six-seat mini bus. It has both a roof carrier and boot storage, which matters when a yatra party is carrying bedding and utensils rather than suitcases. Both vehicle types are air-conditioned, and both come with a driver who is used to handling a long-wheelbase vehicle on district roads.
Pilgrimage groups are the biggest single category. A joint family or a mandali of fourteen going to Prayagraj Sangam, Vindhyachal or Chitrakoot travels far more cheaply and far more happily in one Tempo Traveller than in three cars, and the driver becomes part of the arrangement — parking, waiting at the ghat, keeping luggage safe while everyone is in the temple.
Weddings are the second. Barati transport from Basti to a venue in Harraiya or across the district line, guest shuttles between the railway station and the hall, and the return run at 1 a.m. when everyone is exhausted. Then there are school and college excursions, corporate site visits and audit teams, and increasingly, groups heading to Ayodhya for a single day of darshan.
Every vehicle is sanitized before pickup and GPS-tracked, which is less about surveillance and more about the phone call a family makes at 11 p.m. asking where the group has reached. Drivers on group duty are the more experienced ones — a loaded twenty-six-seater on a narrow district road is not a vehicle for a new hand.
On multi-day hires the driver's rest is planned, not improvised. If your itinerary implies fourteen hours behind the wheel, we will tell you and propose a different shape for the day. It is a slightly awkward conversation to have at the booking stage and a much worse one to have on a highway at midnight.
Pickups are free anywhere inside Basti city — including multi-point pickups, which is normal for group bookings where the party is spread across several mohallas. Give us the addresses in the order you want them collected and the driver plans the loop.
We also start runs from Khalilabad, Santkabirnagar, Harraiya, Rudhauli and Walterganj, and we routinely collect a group from Basti railway station or Gorakhpur Junction and take them straight onward. For pickups outside the district, tell us the location and we will confirm whether it makes more sense to start from there or from Basti.
